Last week, as America approached its 247th birthday, it marked a significant moment for the country. The Supreme Court’s ruling against elite universities treating vulnerable and historically marginalized Asian students as second-class citizens was a triumph for the majority of Americans who oppose race-based affirmative action in college admissions. The 6-3 decision reflected a positive outcome.
Unfortunately for President Joe Biden, who has shown support for anti-Asian discrimination, it was not a favorable week. The Supreme Court agreed with Nancy Pelosi’s assessment that Biden did not possess the authority to cancel student debt without the consent of Congress. Additionally, the president’s staff failed once again to prevent him from making public gaffes.
Biden made several notable blunders during the week. He mistakenly claimed that Russian leader Vladimir Putin was “losing the war in Iraq” on multiple occasions. Furthermore, he mentioned discussing the ongoing conflict in Ukraine with President Volodymyr Zelensky, implying that Putin was losing there as well. Biden even made an alarming confession about selling “state secrets” during a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Of greatest concern was Biden’s performance in an interview with MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace. The president struggled to articulate coherent thoughts, while Wallace giggled in an inappropriate manner. Biden made confusing references to the “American Civil War of 1960” and even wandered off the set while the cameras were still rolling, resembling an escaped nursing home patient chasing an ice cream truck.
Adding to the worries, it was revealed that Biden now uses a CPAP machine to manage his sleep apnea, which increases the risk of dementia, cognitive decline, and mortality.
