(Patriot Command Center) When progressive ideals kill the soul of a free society, all that is left are the dry bones of a once great republic. So have the Progressive ideals, which strove to change what they perceived as marginalized and unjust systems, now metastasized into something darker and deeply destructive.
What was once a cultural and political force striving toward redefining social justice has morphed into a kind of ideological crusade, one that is no longer building society but dismantling it. America is now witnessing a seismic shift: not progress, but socialcide.
What Is Socialcide? It is an invented word that means the killing of the soul of society through the use of antithetical measures thought to be productive.
Socialcide is not a single event but a process, the slow, often celebrated unraveling of civil society. It happens when civil discourse collapses under the weight of ideological polarization. It thrives when misinformation is used as a political bludgeon, when communities are divided by race, gender, or class instead of unified through common values, and when institutions built to educate, heal, and support are hollowed out and repurposed for power struggles and to replace fecund achievement with inclusion rather than earned merit.
It is the death of a society not by sword or bomb, but by self-inflicted erosion of trust, civility, and shared purpose. Hate speech by those who preach anti-hate speech, along with tortured and misplaced moral values, prompts the collapse of civil discourse.
Where open debate once thrived, there is now censorship masquerading as virtue. Platforms once designed to promote free expression are weaponized to silence dissent. Those who question prevailing narratives are labeled extremists, bigots, or worse. “Cancel culture” was once dismissed as a paranoid myth; now, it’s a lived reality for thousands who’ve lost jobs, reputations, or livelihoods for speaking outside the progressive script. The approved narrative became nothing more than a death march for free speech.
And yet, the architects of this social construct insisted this was not cancelation; it was a “cultural seismic shift.” But when these shifts are determined not by laws or democratic processes but by mobs, thugs, and algorithms, citizens do not live in justice; they live in fear.
Communities, lives, and futures have been torn apart by the infusion of an aggressive form of deadly speech and mind control but cloaked in the ‘greater good’ scenario.
In the name of equity, communities have been sliced into identities and pitted against each other. DEI initiatives, once promising a seat at the table for the marginalized, have been hijacked into systems that reward political loyalty over competence and grievance over merit. The result isn’t unity, but resentment.
The myth that discrimination can be undone with the illusion of reverse discrimination is crumbling, as those once elevated by ideological favoritism are now facing backlash, not out of hate, but because fairness was never supposed to be a zero-sum game.
“A lie that there is such a thing as reverse discrimination implies that discrimination only comes from one source, which is frequently labeled as colonial supremacy, but discrimination can come from any source and is usually based on a false premise, prejudicial teachings, and blind obedience to political dogma. Therefore, prejudice exists, but reverse discrimination is a fallacy.” Steve Eichler, JD, is the Founder of the Patriot Command Center.
Retailers abandon neighborhoods once filled with cultural pride due to unchecked crime. Schools built to educate are now battlegrounds of identity. Mutual aid networks have been replaced with institutionalized dependency. In trying to build utopia, progressives have only deepened alienation.
Ideological warfare disguised as morality has transformed the education system, workplaces, and communities into toxic mires of socialcide, killing freedom and neutralizing common sense.
The progressive machine, powered by institutions, media, and tech giants, has pushed cultural conformity through emotional coercion and social manipulation. It convinced many, especially youth, that speech is violence, disagreement is oppression, and opposing views are existential threats.
But a society cannot survive when dissent is criminalized and morality is monopolized. The growing disillusionment among Americans across the political spectrum shows that people are waking up to the fragility of a freedom conditioned on conformity.
Now, the very groups once shielded by this ideological armor are experiencing the harsh edge of a cultural seismic shift, but no longer in their favor. DEI is being rolled back. Corporate indulgence in ideological campaigns is declining. Cancelation is no longer one-directional. The public is beginning to reject the notion that historical guilt or minority status justifies poor behavior or double standards.
And Progressives, particularly those who cheered while others were deplatformed or jailed, are suddenly finding themselves at the receiving end of the very mechanisms they created.
The same outrage that justified firing reporters and talk show hosts for questioning the official line on the pandemic or elections is now turning on progressive figures for financial failures, misinformation, or hypocrisy.
Freedom is not a progressive plaything, a toy that when exhausted can be discarded and forgotten; it is the lifeblood of America, something that must be held in high esteem and social regard.
Civilization is a fragile achievement. It took centuries of philosophy, bloodshed, reform, and reconciliation to build a system where rights are protected not by political mood, but by principle. Progressive politics, in its current incarnation, has forgotten this. It treats power as a weapon of moral vengeance, not stewardship.
But freedom, true freedom, demands more. It demands debate without fear, law without partiality, and communities united by more than shared enemies.
Final Word: A movement that kills the soul of a society while claiming to save it is not progress; it’s socialcide, and America must have a resurrection of unfettered freedom.
