The leader of a drug cartel and a hitman who liked to film torture sessions and behead dozens of enemies has disappeared from a federal prison in Florida where he was serving a 49-year sentence.
Edgar Valdez-Villareal was in charge of a Mexican-American drug cartel. In November, for no clear reason, his name was taken off the website of the federal Bureau of Prisons. Even though he doesn’t get out of prison until July 27, 2056, he is no longer in BOP custody.
